Germany reached the final by beating France 3-2 in the semi-finals. One rubber of that tie shows a third game of 20-16 on the tie card: all games at this championship ran to time, and the card prints the score at which play ended. The United States beat Austria 4-0, with one rubber stopped at one set each once the tie was settled. In the first group round Germany was the only squad in either division to come back from 0:2, against Italy. In the second, Austria beat the United States 3:2, and those three games were the only ones the American women lost in either group round.

Five pairings, seed one against seed one down to seed five, and three wins take the tie. All five finished in two games.
Germany won the outside seeds: Julia and Franziska Stadler beat Morgan and Wanderer at seed one, Günther and Haas beat Barklow and Dolan at seed five. The United States won the three in between, Hui and Lamontagne at seed two, Lowe and Phan at seed three, Gould and Chou at seed four, the last of them 21-19, 22-20.

Germany won each of its four games by seven points or more. The United States won six games, four of them by two points. The tie counts rubbers, not margins, and in rubbers it was 3-2.
In 2024 the final finished 4-1. The 2022 score is not in our record, and that event ran with three pairs a side, not five. Austria, bronze in both earlier editions, finished fourth this time: France beat it 4-1 for the bronze, France's first squad medal at this championship.
